Karl Friedrich Benz full named is a mechanical engineer Karl Benz, Germany to design and build a car is practically the first in the world to be powered by the internal combustion engine. On January 29, 1886, Benz received the first patent (DRP No. 37,435) for petrol-fuelled car. It was a three wheel car; Benz built the first four-wheeled car in the year 1891. and the company that was founded by Benz & Company, became the first company at once became the world's largest car manufacturer by 1900.
Karl Friedrich Benz was born in 1844 in Baden Muehlburg, Germany (now part of Karlsruhe). He is the son of an engine driver. He served as member of the Supervisory Board of Daimler-Benz AG from 1926, when the company was formed, until his death.

He married Bertha Ringer in 1872, which plays an active role in the business, together they had five children. Karl Benz died in 1929.
